Get Your Ducks in a Row

A reminder that the Olentangy and Delaware Rotary Clubs have CHALLENGED US to a Duck Duel. Each year the non-profit agency, The Alpha Group of Delaware, raises funds for the organization through its Zoom Duck Derby. The Alpha Group supports adults with disabilities and provides services to many of our Westerville community members. We are in a battle to see which Rotary Club can purchase the most Ducks for their team. A single duck costs $5. There are packages for buying larger quantities. The winning duck earns the owner $1500, 2nd place is $1000, and 3rd place is $500.

The Event will happen June 20, 2026 at Zoombezi Bay

Click DUCKS to learn more, share the link with others, and buy some ducks!
Go to the website, select Teams on the top banner, and scroll to Westerville Rotary to purchase for our club.

Help Westerville Seniors Stay Warm: Yarn and Quilting Fabric Donations Needed

by Chip Bruchac

Many of you know that I volunteer with two groups of dedicated women who create quilts, afghans, hats, and scarves for low-income seniors in our community. Their handmade items provide warmth, comfort, and a reminder that someone cares.

The groups are currently in need of supplies and would greatly appreciate donations of yarn or quilting fabric. If you have unused materials tucked away at home, or would like to purchase supplies to donate, your support would make a meaningful difference.

While Red Heart yarn is their preferred brand, donations of any yarn brand are welcome and appreciated.

To arrange a donation, please contact Chip Bruchac at 614-975-0220. Donations can be dropped off at a meeting or delivered to Chip's home.

Thank you for helping these talented volunteers continue their work of caring for seniors in need.

President's message

By

Great field trip this week to the Westerville Electric Division. Thanks to Chris Monacelli
and his folks for an informative and fun meeting.

I hate heights, but must admit a bucket truck ride on a beautiful day was quite enjoyable.

We will be having a club assembly this week. John Kellogg will discuss some items from
the Foundation. I will present the Strategic Plan and provide some other club updates.

Not as much fun as a bucket truck ride but it will be informative.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Help Homeless Youth at Monthly Star House Family Dinner

Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club and Westerville Noon Rotary Club serve family lunches for homeless youth at Star House each month. You can help by cooking, donating items that do not need cooking and/or serving lunch at Star House.

Star House is no longer requiring background checks or trauma training in order to serve lunch! If you are able serve lunch, we will set up at 11:30 am and be done around 1 pm.

We also need assistance with purchasing items and/or cooking. Food can be dropped off to Chris Herbert the Sunday before if it’s non-perishable, or Monday before 10:30 am if it’s hot food.

Our next lunch will be held on June 22.
Please use the sign-up genius to indicate if you can purchase or make food, and/or if you are able to help serve the lunch.

The remaining 2026 dates are:

  • Jul 27
  • Aug 24
  • Sept 28
  • Oct 26
  • Nov 23
  • Dec 28

Your support is greatly appreciated.
