16th annual golf outing - in memory of Mike Beres
On Wednesday, August 4th, 2010, we will hold our 16th annual golf outing, which is done in memory of former Westerville Sunrise Rotarian Mike Beres.
Mike Beres will always be remembered as a man who loved his large family including his wife Shirley, 6 children and 15 grandchildren. A man devoted to the Lord, Mike was actively involved in the New Albany Church of The Nazarene and spent nine years, along with his wife, guiding the youth group on mission trips, camps and retreats.
Mike was actively involved in The Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise and was devoted to his duties in the Rotary as a Charter Member and his career as CEO of Roush Sporting Goods of Westerville, giving back to and staying involved in the community for over 30 years. As the Club's Sergeant-At-Arms, he was the creator of the Happy Buck and started the tradition of using the bed pan for our raffle tickets. Mike was a great Rotarian and especially loved working with kids. As a golfer, Mike excelled at putting teams together his group won the golf outing for years.
The Rotary Club of Westerville Sunrise celebrates Mike Beres' life and memory in this annual golf outing with all proceeds going to the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Foundation which supports youth programs.
