Field of Heroes to Return Next Year
As you have no doubt heard, the Field of Heroes was tremendously well received by the Community. We have had many people ask, plead, and expect that we will do it again next year. Therefore, we have made the decision that we will bring the event back. Mark your calendars for May 28—May 31, 2010.
The outpouring of emotion was somewhat unexpected. We knew the field would be impactful, but the feedback we have received far exceeded our wildest expectations. Here are a few quotes:
"...one only needed to see the faces of those individuals who journeyed through the fields this past weekend to know it was worth the efforts."
"The event had a huge impact on all people who were involved."
"I hope that after you’ve all had time to recover from the work load, lack of sleep and being AOL from your families, you will decide to do this one again next year. I promise that I’ll be there to help, I’m sure I’m not the only one.”
The same committee that ran this year’s event will be overseeing it for next year. We have many lessons that we learned this year and know we can improve. We will be meeting in the upcoming weeks to review this year’s event and begin planning for next year.
If you’re interested in helping please contact Pat Knott at patk@groupeleven.com. Tonya Hardgrove will be coordinating volunteers again and can be contacted at tonya@hardgrovefire.com.
Many thanks to all of you who helped. We had nearly 100% participation in this event from our Club. We should be proud that this event once again showed that we have one of the most energetic, and best, Rotary Clubs around.
THANK YOU!
